NLIU students seek to offer legal aid to needy, launched the Saarthi scheme provide free legal assistance for people online

 

BHOPAL, June 27, 2020: In a first, the Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal has launched the Saarthi scheme on Saturday wherein they will provide free legal assistance for people online. National Legal Services Authority reports 42,259 undertrial prisoners released from jails across country during lockdown

New Delhi, May 15, 2020 (PTI): In a first, a total of 42,259 undertrial prisoners were released from jails across the country during the lockdown period in a move to decongest the prisons in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The report was prepared under the aegis of NALSA Executive Chairman and Supreme Court judge N.V. Ramana. It said the highest number of undertrial prisoners released was 9,977 in Uttar Pradesh, followed by 5,460 in Rajasthan and 4,547 in Tamil Nadu, 3,698 in Punjab and 3,400 in Maharashtra.....- Read More.

National Legal Service Authority is geared up to deal with legal problems amidst COVID-19 crisis & during lockdown

Justice Ramana's video conference with SLSA discussed legal aid defence system implementation on pilot basis
